Preferred Travel of Naples sponsored Immokalee children for a day at CMON Museum
Preferred Travel of Naples helped put smiles on the faces of 17 children from Immokalee by sponsoring their day at the CMON Museum on Saturday, October 20. The outing was arranged in partnership with Pastor Arnie Coones from First Assembly Ministries of Immokalee.
In lieu of gifts for National Boss’s Day which was October 16, the staff of Preferred Travel of Naples pulled together over $400 in donations to sponsor the Immokalee children for their outing. The day was gifted in honor of Wilma Boyd, President and CEO of Preferred Travel of Naples, and Olga Placeres, CFO and Agency Manager at Preferred Travel of Naples.
The children who attended the special day at the museum enjoyed the many different exhibits, took part in creating art, built block forts, and enjoyed a pizza party all made possible by the team at Preferred Travel. Pastor Arnie was overwhelmed by the generosity and said he was grateful for the interest in bringing this opportunity to the kids.
“We were overwhelmed with this amazing heartfelt gesture from our staff,” says Placeres. “Supporting our local community is a big part of the Preferred Travel mission. We believe it’s important for local businesses to give back.”
Boyd and Placeres agree that this was the best gift their team could have given them. They believe many other businesses in the area might like to get involved and treat these underprivileged children to a special outing, a day at the zoo, a movie, a pizza party or even a toy at Christmas.
