Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association hosting events and industry programs throughout the month of February

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 8, 2023) – The Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association (SRMA) is hosting events and industry programs throughout the month of February, including a Plant Tour and Lean Manufacturing Seminar at Shaw Development on Feb. 15. Every day we enjoy products that we often don’t realize are made right here, in SW Florida. The SRMA works to raise awareness and appreciation for the 1,176 companies and 13,500 Southwest Floridians who work in manufacturing.

Registration for the Plant Tour at Shaw Development is now open for members and non-member manufacturers who want to learn about Lean Manufacturing and see it in action! The 2:15 p.m. Lean Manufacturing Seminar will be followed by a plant tour. Learn best practices relating to Poka-yoke (mistake-proofing) and first-pass yield, lean manufacturing, and root-cause analysis. Participants are also invited to join a networking social afterward at Riptide Brewery at 4 p.m.

SRMA encourages manufacturers to exhibit at STEMtastic 2023 on Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Caloosa Sound Convention Center, 1375 Monroe St., in Fort Myers. The STEMtastic Day of Discovery is an award-winning STEM event that provides an exciting atmosphere for children and families to experience Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and it’s a great opportunity to get young minds excited about careers in manufacturing.

The SRMA works to bring manufacturers together to promote industry and individual growth through networking opportunities, making connections, sharing resources, and community involvement. SRMA offers a national network of resources and hosts monthly events and educational opportunities for members and (non-member) manufacturing professionals.
