Sovereign Health Announces Orlando Hotline (888) 376-3032 to Support Orlando Shooting Survivors, Loved Ones and Area Residents
In response to the shooting at the Pulse night club in Orlando, Florida, Sovereign Health announces the launch of the Orlando Hotline to provide support to survivors, victims’ families and loved ones, and to residents of the Orlando area who may be struggling with the repercussions of the deadliest mass shooting in United States’ history. Sovereign Health recognizes the enormity of the emotional challenges facing individuals who have been swept up by this senseless act of violence. We wanted to extend a helping hand to those whose lives have been devastated. We hope that by creating the Hotline, our staff can assist our fellow citizens to begin the healing process for their grief and loss. The Hotline, open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. EST, offers guidance to callers at this difficult time and is a source of information and referrals to a broad range of behavioral health treatment providers and other support services. Hotline operators are standing by to receive calls at: 888-376-3032.
“At this time of national tragedy and mourning, as a leading provider of behavioral health treatment services and a member of the Florida healthcare community, Sovereign Health is committed to providing support to the citizens of Orlando,” says Dr. Tonmoy Sharma, Chief Executive Officer for Sovereign Health.
Callers will be provided with information and education about the grief process and intervention assistance along with referrals to behavioral health treatment providers and a wide array of other support services. Sovereign Health is a national behavioral health treatment service provider and the Hotline’s phones will be answered by volunteer operators who are Sovereign employees and work at the company’s call centers and treatment facilities.
Dr. Sharma noted: “The Hotline volunteers do not only come from our facilities in Fort Myers and Pompano Beach, Florida, but also come from our facilities and offices all over the United States. We are grateful to our volunteers who stand ready to support those who have been affected by this unthinkable tragedy and to provide compassionate and accepting responses to those whose lives have been shattered by hatred and bigotry.”
In addition to the Orlando Hotline, numerous other treatment service providers, support services and helplines are available to anyone who has been affected by the tragedy in Orlando. For those interested in helping Pulse survivors and their families, there is also a need for volunteers, blood donors and monetary donations.
