Storm Smart promotes four to newly created Area Supervisor positions

Storm Smart, America’s largest manufacturer of storm protection products, is proud to announce the promotions of four long time employees.

The company recently promoted Dennis Hall, Mike Petrone, Matt Clausen and Randy White to the newly created roles of Area Supervisors.

Each of the area supervisors will be in charge of specific areas of Storm Smart’s overall coverage area. Hall will oversee operations in Collier County, Clausen and Petrone will oversee operations in Lee County, and White will oversee operations in Charlotte and Sarasota.

The promotions are part of an overall restructuring initiative for Storm Smart, which has seen record growth in the past couple of years. “These new positions are just one of the many steps we are taking In 2020 to elevate the customer experience at Storm Smart,” says Executive Chairman Brian Rist.

In their new roles, the four will oversee the installation and quality of the more than 4,000 jobs Storm Smart installs on an annual basis, as well as implement a comprehensive employee training program to drive continuous process improvement efforts.

Collectively, they have been in the hurricane protection industry for nearly 90 years. They will utilize those years of experience to develop a high quality training program for installers at the company. “We will utilize a hands-on individualized training approach that allows us to have more one-on-one time with both new and existing installers,” says Petrone.

The advanced training initiative will allow the company to hire additional installers. “With higher quality installers in the field, we can then focus our attention on bringing in new installers with the intention of improving installation times,“ says Hall. “Our goal is to increase our installation staff from 30 to 45 while, at the same time, raising the standard we set for those installers.

In addition, area supervisors will have an opportunity to work more closely with customers and other employees to ensure the right products for the job. “These new roles allow us to be fully invested in the projects with the customers,” says Clausen. “We can meet with them and the territory managers to not only build a better relationship, but also ensure the products we install meet the specific needs of those customers.”

While the new infrastructure has only been in place since the beginning of the year, the four are encouraged by results already seen. “By meeting with customers and our team in person, we have been able to improve processes and prevent situations before they escalate,” says White. “We are getting positive feedback by being more involved.”
