Tickets now on sale for the 2016 Venetian Charity Ball
Tickets are now on sale for the 2016 Venetian Charity Ball, the premier gala evening in Southwest Florida, benefitting the essential humanitarian work of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. in Lee, Hendry and Glades counties. Hosted by Bishop Frank J. Dewane of the Catholic Diocese of Venice, the 17th annual Venetian Charity Ball will feature cocktails, dinner, dancing, entertainment by the Paul Vesco Orchestra, and an exciting live auction. Dick and Betty Porell, the recipients of the 2016 Catholic Charities Frank Galeana Sr. Humanitarian Award, will also be honored during this illustrious evening. In addition, one attendee will become the owner of a brand new 2016 Jeep Wrangler with a donation for the car raffle.
Several attractive sponsorship opportunities are available, such as the Diamond and Platinum Sponsors, featuring 20 or 10 VIP tickets, a one-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, full-page ad in the event program, special recognition and logo on Facebook, event and table signage, and recognition in the event program and in announcements at the ball. The Venetian Charity Ball is the major fundraising event for Catholic Charities, a source for quality programs and services for thousands of needy families, individuals and seniors. Last year, in Lee, Hendry and Glades counties, Catholic Charities provided food assistance to 45,000 people through three food pantries, screened over 4,000 applicants for food stamps, and filed 1,795 food stamp applications on behalf of clients. Catholic Charities also provided in-home assistance to 89 seniors, tutored 175 children in the Positive Youth Development Program, administered intensive case management to 49 victims of human trafficking, offered substance abuse counseling to 36 clients, helped 498 people with immigration services, taught citizenship classes to 25 persons, and distributed infant supplies to 190 young mothers.
