Tim Aten to emcee STORM & HURRICANE Readiness event on Aug 21, 2023
The Above Board Chamber is excited to announce Tim Aten as the emcee for the upcoming Storm and Hurricane Readiness event on Monday, August 21 at Hilton Naples located at 5111 Tamiami Trail North. Doors will open at 5 pm for networking and question submissions with the panel presentation running from 5:30 to 6:30.
The town hall formatted event is open to the public and free of charge, however, registration is highly recommended as seats will be limited. The event is being presented by the Above Board Chamber of Florida and DAY Adjusting & Consulting. Those encouraged to attend are homeowners, business property owners, HOA’s and anyone seeking to learn the top tips from area professionals on how to prepare for the next storm that may strike our area.
Tim Aten is a senior editor of Gulfshore Business and a columnist for The Naples Press. A Southwest Florida journalist since 1998, Aten has documented regional growth and development in his weekly column since 2006. He previously was news editor and chief online editor of the Naples Daily News, managing editor of The Key West Citizen, and city editor at small daily newspapers in Northeast Ohio
Aten will direct questions to an experienced panel of experts, each of whom has navigated the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Panelists include Blake Day – President of DAY Adjusting & Consulting, Shane Burdett – Executive VP of Sabal Construction and Roofing, Remington Huggins – Founding Attorney of Huggins Law Firm, and Tim Mitchell – Owner of TOPCAT Property and Restoration.
Attendees will learn how to:
• navigate insurance claims,
• deal with damage and repairs,
• plus learn their legal rights as it pertains to damages because of a storm.
The panel will also explore the do’s and don’ts of hurricane preparedness and offer useful tips to help before, during, and after unforeseen disasters.
