Urgent Care Center of SW Florida expands with three new hires
Urgent Care Center of SW Florida is pleased to announce that it has expanded its clinical and management personnel with the hiring of physicians Dr. Michael J. Goeden and Dr. Nhat Nguyen Thi Nguyen and Estero Office Manager Emily Bouchard.
Dr. Goeden comes to Urgent Care Center of SW Florida from Fredericksburg, Va., where he founded a successful urgent and family care clinic and served as its president and medical director since 2004. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Nebraska Medical School in 1975, and held residencies in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Emergency Medicine at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. and the University of Cincinnati, respectively. Dr. Goeden has been certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine since 1983. Since 2011, he has volunteered his time and expertise as Operational Medical Director for the City of Fredericksburg Fire and Rescue and Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he also served as medic, running with the squad several times a month. He will care for patients at the Cape Coral office.
Dr. Nguyen most recently served as a physician at an urgent care clinic and a family practice in St. Petersburg, Fla. After earning a master’s degree in biomedical sciences from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, she received her D.O degree from the same school four years later in 2010. She went on to hold a residency in family practice at St. Petersburg General Hospital. Dr. Nguyen is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Medicine, and is a past presenter at that organization’s convention. She is also affiliated with the American Osteopathic Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the Vietnamese Association of Physician, Dentists and Pharmacists of Florida. She has an extensive history of volunteerism, having performed health screenings for inner-city children, as well as underserved members of the Vietnamese community. She has also donated her services at a children’s shelter and worked to raise money for Alzheimer’s research.
Estero Office Manager Emily Bouchard served in that same position for an invasive cardiologist in Naples for nine years, and is returning to the profession after a leave to tend to her daughter’s own medical condition. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations at Urgent Care Center of SW Florida, ensuring prompt, compassionate service on the front end of the practice and anticipating the needs of all staff so they can continue providing excellent care to a growing community with ever-changing needs.
