Van Emmerik Custom Homes wins two Sand Dollar Awards

The Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA) awarded two coveted Sand Dollar Awards to Van Emmerik Custom Homes at its 25th anniversary awards celebration, which was attended by a sold-out crowd at the Ritz Carlton Tiburon. The Sand Dollar Award is the highest accolade given to CBIA members who have demonstrated building, design and marketing excellence.

Van Emmerik received a Sand Dollar Award for Product Design of the Year in the category of Single Family Homes in the $1 million – $1.25 million range with a perfect score for its Barbados home on 5th Avenue North in Naples. With a near perfect score, the custom homes builder also received a Sand Dollar Award for its Prato Estate home in Talis Park, Naples for Product Design of the Year, Single Family Homes, $3.5 million and above (subcategory $16 million and above).

The Barbados on 5th Avenue North is a 5,298-sq-ft luxury residence that lives like an island vacation home. Blending Colonial West Indies architecture with Transitional style, this home features three bedrooms, three full baths, one half bath and two studies. It boasts an open floor concept with large kitchen, an impressive 5×10 island and lots of thoughtful details to complete an ultra-luxurious getaway feel.

At 24,000 square feet total and about 17,400 under air, the elegant Prato Estate Home is the largest residence in prestigious Talis Park. The palatial home offers six bedrooms, seven full baths, two half baths, formal living and dining rooms, a wine room, craft room, formal salon and study. A covered walkway connects to a guesthouse that features three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage. The opposite side of the estate has a walkway connecting to a two-story home office with a large conference room and a “man cave” upstairs. Among this estate home’s many impressive features is the Galala stone that was carved out of the mountain in Eqypt that bears its name specifically for use in the trim work, window arches, the 76 stone columns throughout the exterior and interior of the home, finely detailed scrollwork around the three garages, and even the driveways.

Weber Design Group designed both of Van Emmerik’s Sand Dollar Award-winning homes, and itself took home an award for Architectural Design for the Prato Estate.

Chris van Emmerik said, “We’re grateful to the CBIA and our partner businesses who contributed to the picture perfect realization of these projects. As always, however, our greatest debt of gratitude goes to the homeowners who trust their vision to us and become our most valued team players on every project we undertake. But there’s no denying it’s still a rush to have been selected for not one, but two, Sand Dollar Awards!”
