Water and wheels event draws boats, cars to Cape Harbour

A heart-pounding collection of boats and cars and dance worthy music highlight the 14th annual Water & Wheels three-day event at Cape Harbour on March 13-15.

The free admission event has become an entertainment destination for the Southwest Florida community who appreciate classic and modern-day cars and boats that not only look good but run fast.

Hospitality Group Holdings announces its restaurants at Cape Harbour, including Fathoms Restaurant & Bar and The French Press, will greet guests with a wide array of unique food dishes and plenty of drinks when the Water & Wheels event begins at noon Friday. There also will be plenty of boats from yachts to kayaks and paddleboards in the waterways and on land around Cape Harbour to view as well from noon to 5 p.m. From 6-10 p.m. there will be music in the square provided by 3 Crooked Steps.

On Saturday, the boat show continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wildfire takes to the stage with live music from 6-10 p.m.

Then on Sunday, there will be a rev’em up performance by the classic Michigander top fuel nitro dragster, firing up teeth-rattling noise. A car show with over 120 classic and custom cars, including Corvettes, Mustangs, other street rods, customs and coupes, race cars, trucks and motorcycles will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and trophies will be awarded in various categories. The boats will continue to be on display from 9 a.m. to noon and the musician OBE will keep the heart racing from 4-7 p.m.

“It brings a lot of people around who may not come very often to the area,” said Valeria Zanella Voisin. “They love boats because we are a very big boat community. It’s a great event to just come walk around, have lunch or dinner and enjoy the things we offer.”

The Coast Guard also will be available for boat safety inspections. There will be 50/50 raffle and more music by DJ Music Tom’s Traveling Tunes.

Fathoms Restaurant & Bar, The French Press, Safe Harbor Marinas, Marina Villages and Master Touch Installations are sponsoring this year’s event.
