Biography
Sunshine Ace Hardware is one of the largest family-owned home improvement and outdoor recreation retailers in Collier County, now with seven locations in Charlotte, Lee and Collier County I’m a third-generation leader who has spent 20+ years scaling my family’s hardware business into one of Florida’s largest family-owned home-improvement retailers — and the same two decades helping shape the institutions that will define Florida’s next economic chapter. Sunshine Ace Hardware was founded by my grandfather in 1958 in downtown Naples. Today we operate 16 hardware stores, 2 paint and decorating stores, and a home services division — a 500+ employee enterprise across Pinellas, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties, and a top-10 Ace Hardware franchisee in America. We’ve grown through acquisition (Crowder Bros., 2019) and disciplined organic expansion, with new stores at Babcock Ranch and Winchester. Ahead of our growth, we built a codified culture and core-values framework to ensure our founders’ values would not be diluted as we acquired and opened new locations. That foundation has produced four consecutive Gulfshore Business Best Place to Work awards, the Uncommon Friends Business Ethics Award, and a team that serves customers the way our family intended. Beyond the business, I am Immediate Past Chair of the Florida Gulf Coast University Board of Trustees, appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2022. FGCU sits at the center of one of the country’s fastest-growing regions — Southwest Florida is projected to need 100,000 net new jobs by 2030 — and its work on workforce, research, and access is among the most consequential in the state. I previously served two terms on the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Miami Branch Board, including two years as Chair, providing economic intelligence across Florida, the Caribbean, and Puerto Rico. I’m also a member of the Florida Council of 100, Chair of Leadership Florida, a director of the Florida Chamber, and Vice Chair of NCH Healthcare System. In 2022, I co-founded the Resnick-Wynn Family Business Conference at FGCU, an annual gathering dedicated to one of the hardest and least-discussed challenges in American business: family-business succession. Keynotes have included Steve Forbes, Jon Tisch, Alan Hassenfeld, and Jim Perdue. Proceeds funded scholarships totaling almost $200,000 at FGCU for students pursuing family-business leadership — because the next generation of Florida operators needs to come from somewhere, and that somewhere is increasingly here. My focus remains where it has always been: building Sunshine Ace for the next generation, strengthening Florida’s institutions, and supporting the family businesses that are the backbone of our state’s economy. |

Biography
SVdP Naples, part of a worldwide Catholic lay organization, is committed to helping employed, unemployed and underemployed Collier County residents struggling through a financial crisis. We provide temporary financial (rent, utilities, food) assistance, followed by Life Skills instruction (financial literacy, budgeting, credit management, employment skills), and, if applicable, Life Enhancement Assistance to open more lucrative career options that will increase annual income and provide financial stability. We move residents from “needing assistance” to “financial stability.” SVdP Naples is funded solely through grants and donations from individuals, businesses, foundations and community groups, receiving NO FUNDING from either the Catholic Church or any government or governmental agency. Each year, SVdP Naples assists 17,000 to 24,000 Collier County residents, most of whom work in Collier County’s service industries for over 475 SWFL employers. When SVdP Naples helps a local resident, it helps that resident’s employer, our economy, and the “Naples Lifestyle.” When SVdP Naples helps a recently-unemployed resident, it might well be helping your next hire. The “Naples Lifestyle” Depends on our Local Workforce … Our Local Workforce Depends on SVdP Naples! SWFL businesses are not often introduced to a nonprofit organization that understands and incorporates an ROI – return on investment – into its donation requests. |

Biography
Naples Spirit of 45 The effort to connect the latest generation to the greatest generation to fight cultural amnesia began in August 2010 with a breakfast for 70 veterans. Today, our breakfast host over 225 veterans, plus 100+ family members and collaborators. On the 2nd Sunday in August, all across America, patriots gather for their community specific events called TAPS ACROSS AMERICA. Here Americans remember those lost in WWII with a concert, wreath at sea ceremony, fly-over and M & M Cafe Ice Cream Social. After six year of collaborating with various 501c3 organizations, the committee said it was time to form our own 501c3. So in 2015 , the application was filed and in April 2016, SWFL Veterans Alliance Inc. became official and will now produce the Greatest Generation Breakfast, Taps Across America, and Operation Christmas Spirit . Our collaborative partner are still with us as we share a common mission. Our board members, advisory board membesr, collaborators, sponsors and vendors are dedicated individuals and organization who understand that collaboration is key helping our local veterans. Thank you for your interest and support.
