ALTAIR Gun Club’s Shirley Watral chosen to be on the Women’s Outdoor Media Association Board

ALTAIR Gun Club’s general manager Shirley Watral has been selected to serve on the Women’s Outdoor Media Association (WOMA) board.

Watral’s role on the board will include helping to secure support for the 2017 She Never Quit fundraising event. This event benefits Navy SEAL family charities selected by Melanie Luttrell, wife of Marcus Luttrell, famed Navy SEAL Lone Survivor.

“I’ll focus on recruiting sponsors, silent auction items and swag bag items for this important fundraiser,” says Watral. “Helping to support the families of fallen Navy SEALS is an honor.”

Before becoming ALTAIR Gun Club general manager, Watral was employed for 33 years at Collier County government; 30 of which were with the Collier County Tax Collector. Watral first visited the gun club five years ago for a fundraising event. Shortly thereafter, she became a member of the Club and has since joined the competitive shooting world. Her interest in firearms training, competition shooting and women’s safety led to her career change.

Watral joins WOMA board members: Marsha Petrie Sue, MBA and Certified Speaking Professional; Lenee Landis, former private investigator, and project manager for security logistics with red carpet events and Hot Brass magazine editor; Tracy Barnes and twin sister Lanny Barnes, who competed together in several Olympics including Sochi 2014; Cindy Noyes, a range master and firearms instructor; Athena Lee who competed as part of Team USA she won the Gold Medal (individual) in 1999 and 2008 and was part of the USA Team Gold Medal in 2008; and Deb Ferns, a MBA, has won regional and national entrepreneurial business awards and is the Camp Director of Babes with Bullets.
