Avoiding the Landmines of Negligent Hiring training seminar

Registration is open for “Avoiding the Landmines of Negligent Hiring” training seminar on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at DeRomo’s LaFontana Banquet Room, 26795 South Bay Drive, in Bonita Springs. Karen Shepherd, MSHR, SHRM-CP, Owner of HR by Karen, LLC; J.A. “Tony” Olivo, LPI, CPCI, a Director of Investigative Services and Board Certified Professional Criminal Investigator with Corporate Screening and Investigative Group, LLC; and Mark Fleagle, a Consultant with USI Insurance Services, are collaborating to help businesses, small or large, avoid the landmines of negligent hiring by creating a strong recruitment foundation, onboarding process, and opportunities for retention.

Karen, Tony and Mark will share best practices on all phases of the hiring process starting with the decision to hire a team through retaining your most valuable asset, the employee. This training will help businesses understand the risks in taking shortcuts in hiring just to fill a seat versus taking a proactive approach in hiring to avoid costly turnover costs. Other topics include how to stay competitive with compensation packages, knowing the difference between background investigations and pre-employment screenings. Check-in and continental breakfast will be 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. and the 90 minute seminar will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.

The event is free to attend. Registrants are asked to consider a donation of $10 or more to Taste of Immokalee, a student-created and student-operated company whose mission is to provide students hands-on experience in all aspects of business and entrepreneurship.
