Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa welcomes Dr. Maximilian Padilla to the practice

Dr. Patrick Flaharty and his team at Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa are pleased to announce that Maximilian Padilla, MD, has recently joined their team of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery specialists.

Dr. Padilla specializes in ocular facial plastic surgery, including eyelid and brow surgery, facial cosmetics, facial trauma, advanced skincare, and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Padilla is a board-eligible ophthalmologist and recently completed an ASOPRS Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. During his fellowship, Dr. Padilla was an Attending Physician at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery in Ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University. During his fellowship, Dr. Padilla performed more than 5,000 surgeries.

Originally from Albuquerque, N.M., Dr. Padilla began his college education at Albertson College of Idaho on a fine arts scholarship. He graduated Cum Laude in three years, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. To help cover his college expenses during those years, Dr. Padilla would sell his commissioned artwork.

From Idaho, Dr. Maximilian Padilla moved to Salt Lake City and received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He followed with an internship at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

“My approach is a fusion of art and science, combining my background as an artist with my training and experience as a plastic surgeon to achieve the optimum results for each patient,” explained Dr. Padilla. “I always try to treat my patients like my family – and nothing is more precious to me than family. I love what I do, and I want to use my skills, my artistry, to help my patients love their life by looking and feeling their best.”

Impressed with the practice at Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Dr. Flaharty and his staff, Dr. Padilla joined the Azul team and relocated to the Fort Myers area just two months ago.

Dr. Padilla’s drive, inquisitive nature, and love of research have led to the development of his own Padilla Serrated Enucleation Scissors. These will be part of the Bausch and Lomb instrument catalog.

Dr. Padilla loves boating, fishing, painting animal portraits, photography, playing with his border-doodle puppy, and spending time with his parents, who reside in Venice. In his spare time, he loves to work out and competes in natural bodybuilding competitions.
