Baby Basics 17th Annual Fashion Show was a great success
Baby Basics of Collier County held their 17th Annual Fashion Show on Thursday, November 7 with over 280 women in attendance. The fundraising luncheon has grown into one of the season’s favorites for many of the organization’s supporters. The goal was to raise enough funds to secure an entire tractor trailer load of diapers; that goal was met with over $100,000 raised.
The charity luncheon included a delicious menu, stunning fashions from Evelyn & Arthur of Bonita Springs; J&K Collections, and BU Club of The Village Shops on Venetian Bay; and Lilly Pulitzer of Waterside Shops,
and a live auction which featured an original painting created specifically for Baby Basics by local artist Emily James. The event was emceed by Lois Thome of WINK News and the auctioneer was Sheila Zellers. In addition to the fashion show, Baby Basics founder Jean Ann Lynch spoke about the need to help families keep their babies in clean diapers and gave attendees the latest updates about the successful diaper program.
“Each year, the number of luncheon attendees continues to grow, and this year was truly another remarkable year. Our message is resonating within the community,” said Jean Ann Lynch, President and Founder of Baby Basics. “We were thrilled to have so many dedicated volunteers, models, partners, and sponsors with us again this year. The smiles were endless, and together, we raised vital funds for the babies and that is what touches my heart.”
One of the most important ways Baby Basics raises money is through the annual fashion show and funds raised will help fund the monthly diaper distribution to babies in Collier County. With the help of donors, sponsors and event attendees, Baby Basics has been steadfast in its mission to supply diapers and kindness to over 600 babies and 2500 family members each month. Since 2002, Baby Basics has distributed over 13 million diapers to babies of nearly 50,000 hard-working family members.
