Katy Hennig has joined the Conservancy of Southwest Florida as director of communications and marketing. In this role, Hennig oversees the branding, marketing, communications and public relations program for the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, including the nonprofitâs institutional and advocacy positions, membership and development, policy, science, education, wildlife rehabilitation and the Nature Center.
Most recently, Hennig was assistant director of marketing and communications at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). During her time at FGCU, she developed and edited content for the FGCU 360 website and magazine and produced marketing publications to showcase the accomplishments of students, faculty and alumni. Prior to working with FGCU, Hennig worked at the University of Miami as director of communications and digital strategy for alumni relations, as well as the University of South Florida as a digital media coordinator. Her experience also includes working as a photojournalist at NBC News Channel 8 WFLA-TV (Tampa) producing videography, editing and writing for broadcast news.

Hennig has a Master of Arts in digital journalism and design from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in communication from the University of Tampa.
