Curran Young Construction, Youth Haven partner for Hoopfest and court opening

Curran Young Construction partnered with Youth Haven to host Hoopfest, a basketball skills clinic, on June 12, celebrating the early completion of a new on-campus basketball court, offering residents a safe and active outlet while construction continues on a larger campus expansion.

Hoopfest was organized by Curran Young project manager Cliff Greer, who is also working on the construction project and has been working closely with Youth Haven to provide frequent events for the kids.

The event brought together Youth Haven residents for a high-energy clinic led by Jerod Engler, a project executive at Curran Young, working on the Youth Haven project, and Devin Hanley, a project manager at Curran Young.

“Youth Haven’s mission is incredibly close to our hearts,” said Curran Young CEO Chris Curran. “Every opportunity we have to enhance the environment for these kids, whether it’s a major facility or something as simple as a day on the court, is something we’re proud to do.”

Participants received event shirts and hands-on instruction focused on basketball fundamentals, teamwork and confidence-building in a fun, supportive environment.

“This sports court represents far more than a place to play; it is an investment in the well-being, confidence and future of the children and teens who call Youth Haven home,” said Linda Goldfield, CEO of Youth Haven. “As we continue to advance our Building Hope for Tomorrow comprehensive capital campaign, milestones like this demonstrate what is possible when dedicated community partners step forward with a shared commitment to our youth. We are deeply grateful to Curran Young for hosting Hoopfest and for making this meaningful investment in the children and teens we serve.”

Curran Young is also the builder for Youth Haven’s new Therapeutic Enrichment Center, a cornerstone project that will significantly expand services for abused and neglected children and teens in Southwest Florida. Designed as a two-story, approximately 22,500-square-foot facility, the center will include spaces for therapy, education, recreation and family engagement, supporting Youth Haven’s mission to provide healing and stability for vulnerable youth.

Curran Young Construction combines big-company expertise with a hands-on, client-focused approach.
