Emmanuel Community Park Celebrate Three Years of Serving the Community
Emmanuel Community Park, located at 2770 Oil Well Road in Collier County one-quarter mile west of Everglades Boulevard, will be celebrating their third anniversary of serving the Golden Gate/Naples area this month.
The playground, developed for children four to 14, has welcomed thousands of families since its ribbon cutting in 2019. The playground is open seven days a week and offers an opportunity for families to gather and enjoy outdoor playtime in a safe and fun setting.
The Goodyear Sports Field at the park hosts numerous players and games of soccer and other field sports each week. Collaborations exist with local fitness coaches and the Olfos Sports Academy which provides low-cost organized activities for area youth and teens. Families and athletes have enjoyed the field as they come to play and stay fit.
Through a partnership with Meals of Hope, a local Collier County non-profit organization, more than 425 families receive a week’s worth of food each Wednesday afternoon at the park — rain or shine. Community volunteers pack and distribute the food on-site at the park from refrigerated trucks. Over the past two years, almost one million meals have been provided to the Park’s neighbors and friends in need.
The park serves as the home for Emmanuel Park Church with worship on Sunday mornings at 10 am. Young kids, youth, adults and seniors all are welcomed and appreciated. Church leaders say the congregation is small enough to be very comfortable and welcoming and grows significantly during the celebration of Christmas and Easter. Worship is currently offered out of doors, utilizing a drive-up model, with additional seating, in both English and Spanish through FM transmitters.
“The next step of development for the park is a shade structure to provide shelter from the sun and rain to site visitors,” says Howard Isaacson, CEO of Emmanuel Communities, Inc. & Emmanuel Academies, Inc. “We hope to complete this project within the next four to six months and see even more families enjoy Emmanuel Communities Park.”
