LCBA Golf Tournament raises $20k for Alliance for the Arts

Funds will support youth scholarships and ArtReach educational programming

On behalf of the Lee County Bar Association, Anne Dalton, Esquire, President and arts supporter, is proud to announce the Fifth Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held Saturday, June 6 at Pelican Preserve Golf Club, raised $20,500 for the Alliance for the Arts. The public is invited to attend a check presentation ceremony that will take place during the LCBA’s monthly membership meeting in September.

The Alliance for the Arts is the county’s local arts nonprofit dedicated to infusing the community with arts programming through a diverse, innovative and balanced program of performances, events, community building and educational projects that reaches the widest possible audience. The funds raised during the LCBA tournament, which also included a raffle and silent and live auction, will support the Alliance for the Arts’ youth scholarships and ArtReach educational programming. The ArtReach program offers people of all ages and economic levels the opportunity to participate in artistic and cultural endeavors.

“The arts are a critical necessity in our society, not a luxury. As Bar President, I feel that helping children acquire arts knowledge and hands-on theatrical experiences is a significant contribution to cultivating the next generation of leaders,” said Dalton.

Alliance for the Arts Executive Director Lydia Black said, “Many thanks to the Lee County Bar Association for supporting the Alliance arts education scholarship program! The Arts are catalysts for learning, discovery and achievement. With this gift, we will be able increase the number of arts opportunities for young people in our community. “

The membership luncheon meeting featuring a check presentation to Alliance for the arts will be held Friday, September 18 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers. Cost is $15 for members, $25 for non-members. To register or for more information, please visit www.leebar.org, call (239) 334-0047, or email admin@leebar.org.
