LOCAL RESIDENT AND ACL CHAMPION SCOTT MELLO JR. TO ATTEND ATLANTA ACL OPEN EVENT

NAPLES, FLORIDA | July 14, 2021 – Scott Mello, Jr. of Naples, Florida will be participating in the American Cornhole League (ACL) Open Event #12 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Locally born and raised, Scott and his team recently won first prize in the Competitive Crew Cup in the Jacksonville ACL Open. The Gulf Coast High School graduate is a member of the 4-person team that took the top spot in the relay. After getting his start in the sport playing local venues such as Stevie Tomatoes and taking part in various local and regional events, Scott worked his way up through the ranks.

Currently ranked #128 in the Southeast Conference and #74 in the state of Florida, Scott will be among other top tier baggers attending the prestigious 2021 ACL Open #12 (Southeast) in Atlanta, GA on July 16-18. ACL Open events allow growing newcomers to earn points toward qualifying to be an ACL Pro.

An employee of senior living facility Sandalwood Village, Scott strongly believes in giving back to his community. He and his ACL team members have raised funds for various local charities and individuals undergoing hardships.

Scott recently took second place in the local Sons of American Legion charity ACL tournament. Commander of the Sons of the American Legion, Kevin Sieg states, “We sponsor charity tournaments in Naples and welcome partnerships throughout the community. We fundraise with the aim of raising awareness of our cause and in support of the American Legion. We were thrilled to have Scott participate in our tournament and to further our cause.”

Longtime Naples resident, philanthropist and COO of Gulf Coast International Properties®, Vicki Tracy said, “Scott is only beginning to embark on his professional ACL career but has already made a big impact. He represents Naples in many ways – as a sportsman on a regional, soon to be national level, but also as a big-hearted humanitarian with a passion for giving back to the local community. We wish him much success.”
