(Naples, FL – July 13, 2020) Preferred Travel of Naples will be collecting backpacks and school supplies now through August 4. The items will be distributed to underserved children in Immokalee by Reach Assembly Church on Saturday, August 8.
Due to social distancing, donors are asked to leave items in a basket that has been designated outside the office doors of Preferred Travel, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is located at 801 Laurel Oak Drive, Suite 300 in Naples. If pick up of items is needed, arrangements can be made by emailing Info@preferrednaples.com and a volunteer will schedule a convenient time.
Items will be collected, sorted, and delivered to Immokalee for distribution for the ‘back to school’ giveaway. Items needed are backpacks for ages 5 to 18, notebooks, pencils, crayons, scissors, glue and any other items that can be placed inside the backpacks.
Pastor Arnie Coones, Reach Assembly Church of Immokalee, works with individuals and businesses each year with the goal to collect enough back packs and supplies to serve at least 500 children in the downtown area of Immokalee.
Each year, Preferred Travel and their team of travel advisors get involved with a wide array of non-profit charitable organizations, whether building bikes for children or raising funds through events, they are committed to the community and giving back.
“We really love our community and our team rallies around a good cause,” says Olga Placeres, President of Preferred Travel. “I’ve said it before but now, more than ever, our non-profit organizations need our assistance so they can continue to provide their vital services to those in need.”
