The Founders Scholarship Fund Held 2022 Annual Holiday Scholarship Luncheon

The Founders Scholarship Fund (FSF) held their Annual Holiday Scholars Luncheon on December 30 at Club Pelican Bay. Scholarship recipients, donors, sponsors, and Founders Fund Board of Directors gathered together at the annual event to celebrate the accomplishments of students who are currently receiving scholarships.

Out of 112 Founders Fund students currently attending college and receiving Founders Fund scholarships, 34 students were in town for the holidays and able to attend the special luncheon. In opening comments, students were welcomed by Pat Chadwick, Founders Scholarship Fund Chair. She thanked everyone for making the time during their holidays to meet with donors and board members.

After lunch was served, students were invited to individually speak about their college studies and career goals. Their aspirations included careers in forensics, law, medicine, science, engineering, teaching, finance, and more.

The Founders Scholarship Fund is a local 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that awards renewable scholarships to local students who have shown determination, academic achievements, and financial need to pursue a college education. Until this year, each student received $3,000 per year. However, with a recent increase, each student will receive $6,000 per year amounting to a $24,000 scholarship.
Since the organization was founded in 1991 by golf members of Club Pelican Bay, FSF has awarded over $5 million in scholarships to more than 775 Collier County students. Scholarships are non-restrictive and are given to help students with college and post high-school educational expenses. Students receive the renewable scholarships with the agreement they are a full-time student and maintain a B average or better in their college studies.
