The Founders Scholarship Fund Hosted Annual Scholars Luncheon

The Founders Scholarship Fund held their annual Scholars Luncheon on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Club Pelican Bay. In attendance were 27 students, home for the holidays, along with board members and several sponsors.

Each year, scholarship recipients and benefactors are invited to the holiday luncheon to get to know each other a little better, as well as, celebrate student accomplishments.

Susan Brown, Founders Scholarship Fund Committee Chair, welcomed students, Board members and sponsors to the annual get-together. After lunch was served, each student was invited to speak about their college studies, current college activities and future career goals. Their aspirations included careers in medicine, science, engineering, teaching, psychology, music composition, military, and more.

The Founders Scholarship Fund selects approximately 25 to 35 graduating students each spring from Collier County High Schools to receive scholarships based on their academic success and financial need. The $10,000 scholarships are awarded $2,500 per year as a renewable scholarship based on the student maintaining a B average. Currently, the Fund has over 100 students receiving annual scholarships. Since its inception, The Founders Fund has granted over $4.7 million dollars in scholarships to over 700 Collier County students and has a scholarship commitment of over $275,000 annually.
