CONRIC Wins Silver for Best Overall Writing at Florida Magazine Charlie Awards

CONRIC PR & Marketing | Publishing brought home the silver Friday night in Orlando at the Florida Magazine Association Charlie Awards for the magazine Res Gestae. Published by CONRIC on behalf of the Lee County Bar Association (LCBA), Res Gestae was honored in the statewide competition in the category of Best Overall Writing – Association, as judged by impartial academics and industry experts across the United States. Entries for the Best Overall Writing category are judged on writing excellence across three different issues of the magazine.

CONRIC Communications Editor Sara Fitzpatrick Comito, who is also Associate Editor for Res Gestae, produces the majority of the writing and manages the editorial content for the LCBA’s official publication. She accepted the award on behalf of CONRIC and said, “I was impressed with the caliber of talent and vision on display at the Charlie Awards. Florida is truly on the map for magazine publishing, no doubt in part because of the efforts of the Florida Magazine Association to keep the standards for excellence so high. It was gratifying for our local bar’s publication to be recognized at the statewide level among such peers.”

CONRIC President & CEO Connie Ramos-Williams also serves as publisher of Res Gestae and oversees development and strategy for that magazine. She said, “It’s been a great year for CONRIC and Res Gestae, with both having won awards from various organizations. I’m especially proud that our success in all our projects comes from a committed team approach, and that we work so hard to gain recognition for our well deserving clients. Congratulations to the LCBA on this outstanding accomplishment!”

This is the first year CONRIC, a growing full-service public relations, marketing, advertising and publishing agency has joined the FMA and submitted for a Charlie Award. The awards program is in its 61st year of recognizing excellence in magazines that serve communities, trades and organizations throughout Florida, as well as niche readerships across the United States.

In addition to taking over the monthly publishing of Res Gestae from the LCBA in 2010, transitioning it from a paper-and-staple newsletter to a full-color glossy magazine that garners a handsome advertising revenue for the organization, CONRIC also publishes a quarterly magazine for Bishop Verot Catholic High School.

Res Gestae also won an Award of Distinction from the Southwest Florida chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association in April, and is preparing to accept a Golden Image Award from that association’s statewide organization tonight, August 12.
