Priority Marketing adds Emily Carlson-Fluharty as public relations specialist
Priority Marketing has added Emily Carlson-Fluharty as a public relations specialist responsible for executing public relations strategies that align with clients’ overall goals.
In this role, Carlson-Fluharty collaborates with the firm’s account managers and public relations team to research, draft, edit and distribute news releases, articles, guest opinions, blogs, newsletters, media advisories and other editorial content. Additionally, Carlson-Fluharty monitors media coverage, prepares monthly media reports, develops distribution lists, pitches stories to media, drafts awards submissions, provides crisis communications support, updates event calendars, provides on-site support for special events and offers media relations support.
Priority Marketing’s public relations team provides an array of services, including copywriting, media pitching, communications strategy, speech development, crisis communications, media training, event promotion and more.
Before joining Priority Marketing, Carlson-Fluharty was a communications intern with Lee County, a role in which she drafted news releases, developed social media graphics and provided media relations. She is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving for six years as a boatswain’s mate while working in search and rescue, as well as law enforcement.
Carlson-Fluharty received an Associate of Arts degree from Florida SouthWestern State College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication, with a concentration in public relations, from Florida Gulf Coast University. She served as secretary of FGCU’s Florida Public Relations Association chapter and is a certified victims advocate through the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence.
