Rotary Cup proceeds of almost $6k presented to The First Tee of Lee County

In a fitting partnership, Rotary Club of Fort Myers chose The First Tee of Lee County as the 2016 beneficiary of its annual charity golf tournament, the Rotary Cup. In a special ceremony, the club recently presented a check in the amount of $5,702 to that organization, which seeks to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
The Rotary Cup represents a proud tradition for the Rotary Club of Fort Myers, which is the oldest and largest of the 54 Rotary Clubs in Southwest Florida. The history of the golf tournament goes back to 1934, and it has evolved to become a premier annual charity golf tournament in the region.
Rotary Club of Fort Myers President Victoria Stephan said, “Our club is proud of its rich history of service. The Rotary Cup is emblematic of that history, just like the royal palms the club planted along McGregor in 1922 as its first project. We’re thrilled to support The First Tee, an organization that will help mold community-minded individuals, and even future Rotarians.”
TriCircle Pavers was the proud title sponsor of the 2016 Rotary Cup, held at Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club on May 7. Planning is underway for the 2017 Rotary Cup. Sponsorship information is available by contacting Rotary Club of Fort Myers at (239) 332-8158 or Office@RotaryFortMyers.org
