NotesWhen a company finds projects slipping through the gaps, it’s time to call our office. E. Sue Huff & Associates can HELP. Whether a special project, human resources, training, or marketing — E. Sue Huff can fill the GAP.
Biography
Sue Huff is originally from southwest Virginia, where her family has resided since the early 1600’s. She has lived and studied in Florida and Ohio and relocated to Naples in 1994. She is the owner of E. Sue Huff & Associates, Inc. Marketing and Management Consulting. Sue works with small to mid-sized business (and non-profits) to help them create, plan and administer their marketing plans. She is also known for her “gap” management services for firms who find themselves with too few senior managers. Sue helps with human resources, training, and overall business planning.
As a business owner and entrepreneur for over 30 years, Sue understands the challenges that face other business owners first hand. Her background before starting her consulting firm in Naples, Florida was focused mainly in the Printing industry. Sue learned her graphics skills starting out in the newspaper industry in Daytona Beach and has worked for four newspapers in her career. She then moved her skills into an offset printing operation in Cincinnati. Sue was the managing partner with a chain of small commercial print shops in Cincinnati, Ohio. She built the operation and sold her share prior to accepting a senior management position with the City of Cincinnati. After completing a total department turnaround for the City, she ventured to Florida to start her consulting business.
Schooled in graphics art, broadcasting and theatre, Sue brings her creative senses to every business situation. She has been consulting in the Southwest Florida area since 1996 and is known for her creative ideas, enthusiasm and professionalism.
During the 80’s, her ownership in a printing business taught Sue the ‘in’s and out’s’ of business from the ground up. From marketing to hiring and everything in between, Sue ran her printing business by the golden rule. With art and business math being her favorite subjects, Sue found the printing business to be a great combination of both. Her printing company required creativity and progressive thinking for her clients while creating profit for the company. Sue loves a challenge and quickly became known for her solutions in answer to hard business issues. Clients relied upon her suggestions and honesty to help them with their printing and marketing decisions.
Sue produced an award-winning public relations television show for the City of Cincinnati; facilitated and trained multi-level staff in various topics; performed in a women’s theatre company for 10 years; produced and hosted radio talk shows; has been a guest columnist for the Naples Daily News Business to Business monthly publication; been a guest speaker for various business events and Chambers of Commerce; has written several many training seminars for clients and is now completing a book on the ‘dance of leadership’; and continues to volunteer for numerous non-profits in her spare time.
Sue Huff is a member and serves as an Ambassador for the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce; is a guest speaker and emcee for the Above Board Chamber educational luncheons; a Steering Committee Member for the Community Foundation of Collier County’s Women’s Philanthropic Network; chairs the Junior Women of Initiative mentoring program; a member of the Public Relations Committee for the Naples Winter Wine Festival; serves as the; is a past Board Member and current volunteer for the Collier County Chapter of the American Red Cross; and is a member of the National Daughters of the American Revolution and serves as a volunteer for public relations. Sue also volunteers as a guest speaker for the Small Business Development Center; guest speaker for FastTrac™ and serves on several fundraising committees each year for local non-profits. She is the co-founder of the annual “Thinking Outside the Box” seminar for non-profits.
Sue has won multiple awards during her career. The most notable of these are: the Clara Barton Volunteer Leadership Honor award from the American Red Cross; the Humanitarian Award and Tiffany Award from the American Red Cross; the Inspirational Manager Award from the City of Cincinnati; the Blue Chip Award for TV Production/Cincinnati; a Volunteer Award from the Greater Naples Chamber; and the Women of Style (now Woman of Initiative) Award in 2004.

NotesWith no other options,Two women had a dream to nurture & educate kids close to home. Decades ago, a band of determined educators teamed with parents to create Fun Time Nursery in the heart of Naples. Among this group were Alma and Herbert Cambridge and Ola Mae Mack. Together they dreamed and worked towards the day when children from their neighborhood could be nurtured and educated close to home. “It just seemed natural to me that we had to provide for and teach our young children,” recalled Mrs. Cambridge. “At the time, there was no school for little children during the day, and the options for child care for children of color were nonexistent. We opened the doors to 12 students whose parents paid a very minimal tuition to get Fun Time started. Soon after, the United Fund began to help us, and then others in the community contributed.” The Fun Time Nursery first opened its doors in 1961 as a small classroom within the Old Carver School under the direction of Mrs. Cambridge. The school was 100% African American until 1965, when Mrs. Pat Schultheis joined as a teacher and placed her son, Buddy, in Fun Time. Our easy relationship with integration began. In 1967, Novella Williams joined the staff and remained until 1998, seeing Fun Time through its formative years as a center for child activities in the River Park neighborhood and as an education site for children from downtown. Mother Perry also worked at Fun Time as a cook and then Director. Throughout its history, the early childhood development center focused on learning through a research-based, creative curriculum and worked to meet the needs of students and their parents, setting hours of operation around their work schedules. In 1975, the hours of operation were set at 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In 2009, Fun Time moved from a 4,200-square-foot, 36-year-old trailer to its current 8,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility featuring six classrooms, a multipurpose room for parent meetings and staff events, the Founders’ Room, offices, a kitchen, two playgrounds and a garden. The current building, with its safety, security and increased potential for delivery of educational opportunities, represents a vast improvement for students, teachers and administrators. Ensuring the success of Fun Time is ensuring the success of future generations and our community. ![]() Biography
Our mission is to provide safe, quality, affordable education and care for children and parents from low-income working families and to prepare the children for kindergarten, ready to read and ready to learn! As part of Fun Time’s mission, we serve children who come from low-income, working families. These families are often caught in the cycle of poverty that has lasted for generations due to various circumstances such as lack of skills, stability, and/or education, language barriers, or low wages. The population of children we serve includes Black/African American (66), Hispanic (22), Multi-Racial (7), and White (1). With 99% of our families being economically needed, our efforts in providing a quality, affordable education will benefit not only the child but the family as well. |
